I know your feeling. I still use Dr DivX OSS. In Windows 7 and 10 I've noticed the Dr will still work with a ripped DVD, it's with files I get from the internet that some of them will not work. The Dr will not work with the newer files (MP4, MKV...) encoded with h264, and no doubt h265.. I get around this by re encoding those files to an avi using any other video encoding software first and then encode them with the Dr. There are a few files that are widescreen I end up having issues with but most encode fine. I don't need HD video and my stand alone Philips dvp642 dvd player is only certified for DivX Home Theater anyway, so all my video files get encoded to home theater using the Dr. I'm not a fan of the DivX Converter as the converter doesn't provide the 'single click' "Limit File Size" to a single 700MB like the Dr has.
