Divx converter is giving incorrect resolutions

I have three videos I need to convert from odd resolutions to standard 1920x1080 before I cut them up into separate videos. When I run them through the conversion (Divx Converter) and force the desired resolution, they come out correctly. When I play then in vlc they disp;ay correctly, and when I check the resolution in vlc, Windows Explorer, and MediaInfo I get 1920x1080. But when I try to extract a segment via

divxengine -i "d:\conference\day-1 (1920x1080).mkv" -trim 00:05:04,00:06:17 -o "clip.mp4"

I get a squished (horizontally) video in a 1920x1080 frame. Loading the full video into the Divx converter, the video resolution is reported as 592x1080. What is the problem and how do I fix it? Because of the large number of extractions I would prefer to do this through the divxengine command line.

In a related vein, it would be nice if, after setting up a job in the Divx Converter, there was an option to display the equivalent divxengine command line.
