I understand your frustration I am in the same boat, They won't help you unless they verify your Divx version, how you bought it etcetera, In my words that is poor business practice, we use their product, but they have to verify it,

I have had the Divx player issue since the last update it plays MKV files and the sound sounds like mice, or it won't play them at all I have A Star Wars movie "The Force Awakens" MKV format that plays fine I don't what's wrong it's selective on what MKV files its wants to play properly. MP4 and other files are fine.

I bought Divx pro 10 years ago, I don't remember what email I used to purchase it, and they still don't care.

In my experience on macOS, the MKV file that crashes or has issues depends upon the video or audio stream in the container. Essentially, that is all the MKV file could be related to is a file that contains the video and audio codecs files. As of right now, MKV crashes with Ogg Vorbis audio streams in MKV. However, there are a plethora of other bugs on this OS that is far behind similar OSS software for basic compatibility. I don't know how this company can expect any actual new or consistent customer base when a trial of this software's horrible quality can't justify actually purchasing it.
