After upgrading to the new DivX Plus Player my SRS WOW DivX Edition is not working.
SRS WOW DivX Edition does not auto update and with the release of the DivX Plus Player you will need to make sure you have the latest version installed. You can download it from here.
I have installed WOW HD software, but when I play files through the DivX player I get no sound.
For WOW HD DivX Edition to properly process sound, it must be default audio device. You can check this by going to the control panel and clicking on Devices, and select the Sound card that is installed in your system (Note: Do not select a device with a S/PDIF output or Digital output).
I see the meters on the WOW HD software but I hear no sound.
This happens when the default device is incorrectly selected in the options of the WOW HD panel. To check, click on options, then Audio Devices and make sure that your audio device is selected [Ex: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio Device)].
How do I check to see if my default sound card is selected for WOW HD playback with DivX player?
Click on Control Panel, then click on Sound, Looks at the list of audio devices, SRS WOW HD DivX Edition, must be the default device. If it is not, you can right click on it and set it as the “default communications device”.
I hear no difference using Xvid, ffdshow, ffmpeg codecs, why is that?
WOW HD DivX Edition is designed to take advantage of the DivX codec. Even though the other codecs will allow for DivX encoded files, sound effects will not be processed since they are not being decoded by DivX codecs.
At the end of the trial period, will I be still able to use WOW HD?
No, at the end of the trial period, you have the option of purchasing a registration key to activate it as a paid product or uninstall it.
I launched the WOW HD panel but when I try to turn it on, I get a message that WOW HD only processes DivX content…
WOW HD DivX Edition designed specifically to work with and enhance DivX encoded media files. What that means is; to use the product you must have either DivX Player running, or you must have DivX codecs installed for Windows Media Player, for this to work correctly. Under Windows 7, this statement is not valid. Due to the changes in the Windows Media Player 12 codec playback, DivX codecs are not used, so this product will only work with the DivX player.
Does WOW HD support 5.1 playback?
WOW HD DivX Edition is designed as a stereo product. In the case of 5.1 encoded media, the software down-mixes it to stereo. In the case of Laptop speakers, this works to consolidate sounds into the 2 speakers. If you have 5.1 speaker systems, then you will only hear the sounds in stereo.
I already have a different SRS product installed (iWOW, SAS, Premium Sound), can I still use the WOW HD product?
Yes. Since WOW HD DivX Edition is installed as a virtual sound card, you can use it along with other SRS Products. However, it is not recommended that you run multiple SRS Technology products simultaneously. If you already have other SRS sound suites, they may offer more functionality than just the WOW HD DivX Edition product.
I have purchased WOW HD DivX Edition; can I install it on more than one Computer?
No. The product is sold as a one Computer License only. You only install it on one computer only.
What do I do if I have to reinstall Windows and WOW HD again?
Once the product is activated, it is activated on your specific computer, you can reinstall the software and put in the activation code and reactivate it.
