Setup streaming from DivX Media Server on a DLNA device

First, make sure your device is DLNA-compatible.

Your device’s user manual or manufacturer can verify if your device supports DLNA. Your DLNA-compatible device must be connected to the same network as the computer where DivX Media Server is installed and running.


Then, set up DivX Media Server.

First, Open the DivX Player. After that, go to Tools > DivX Media Server. DivX Media Server is capable of streaming videos in AVI, DivX, MKV, or MP4 format. Your DLNA device must also be able to play those file formats, so check your device’s file support to confirm compatibility. Make sure you have your computer on, then turn sharing on and add folders to DivX Media Server.


Lastly, find DivX Media Server on your DLNA device.

This process can vary between devices, so we’ll only discuss the most common methods here. If the instructions below don’t apply to your device, check your device manual for instructions on finding DLNA servers.

Playstation3

Turn on your PS3 and go to the Video icon. Scroll down under the Video menu to find your DivX Media Server. Once you select the server, your shared videos will be displayed and you can select one to play it back. For more details, see Playstation’s Media Server Connection guide.

Samsung HD TVs

Turn on your Samsung TV and click the “Input” or “Source” button on your TV’s remote. Or, click on the WiseLink icon on your TV menu. Once you’re in the WiseLink menu, go to Movies. LG HD TVs

For most recent LG TV models, simply click the “Input” button on your remote control, or from the Home screen click on the “Input” icon. On the Input screen, select DLNA/Network, and then select your DivX Media Server from the list of servers. For other methods, see LG’s guide to DLNA setup.
Once you've found DivX Media Server on your DLNA device, just open the server to browse your folders and select a video to play!
