Having FFMPEG installed on your computer in tandem with the DivX Media Server can expand the amount of formats you can playback on your devices over DLNA or Chromecast. For example with FFMPEG installed you can stream your MKV files to Xbox One, Xbox 360 or enable HEVC to be transcoded when streaming to your Chromecast
- Download and install FFMPEG on your system: FFMPEG for Windows & Mac
- Open the DivX Player and hover over the "Cast" icon in the lower right hand corner of the Player and click "Settings" or Select the "DivX Media Server" option in the Tools menu:
or - Under the settings tab you will need to tick the "Use FFmpeg for transcoding" box. Click the "Browse" button to open and browse to the FFMPEG.exe file in the location you installed FFMPEG to:
