DivX Software is a powerful suite of tools that allow you to create, convert and playback videos in the DivX® format. DivX Software is open, which means that third-party developers can create filters or plug-ins that expand DivX functionality to support additional video and audio file types. If you encounter files that DivX Software does not support, you may be required to install additional software or filters.
The table below lists common media formats that require the installation of additional filters to enable support in DivX Software.
If you don’t know what to install, the first thing to check is the extension that follows your file’s name. For example, if you have a file named mymovie.MOV or homevideo.VOB , select the MOV or VOB link below, respectively. Sometimes the filter or software you need is for the audio or video track of your video file. To find this out, you can open your video file in free codec analysis software such as MediaInfo or GSpot. Open the file in one of these tools and check the format for the video or audio track. If the audio format, for example, is AC3 then you need to click the link for the AC3 Filter below.

It turns out the problem is the file itself being corrupted. HOWEVER, you need to realize how frustrating and worthless it is to create a support link to literally the same page as the support request was posted in the first place, especially when it in NO way addresses the question being asked. Honestly, I would have felt better about a total lack of response, than what I received above.

I bought DIVX software to solve troubles in accessing ANY video file, but I'm very disappointed. It DOES NOT open the most of video files that I have here. It's frustrating because the DIVX propaganda promise heaven, and give us hell. All the time I come here to read this very long discussion text, that is for experts, not for average consumers like me. If I knew that I'd have to buy or download many extra software in order to make DIVX working, well, I'd have not bought the app. Please, help the consumers that PAY you, instead of downloading illegally the same software over the internet.

DivX Pro "used to" open .MOV with no problems
Today I get a "Player does not recognise this container format. " error message.
I have QT Essentials loaded and the .mov effects works fine in my HitFilm Pro editor.

DivX, I'm not well educated so I'm at a loss without it. My "DivX Pro" is easy to use. Even amateur user can with a little exercising can make his own vome use collections. Note please. To prevent software faults, you must remain online so that the nesessary updates is immediately available.....
