Unfortunately, Mac users on Sonoma (OS 14.0) and later may need to follow some extra steps to install DivX Software. For now, please follow the instructions below to install DivX for Mac. We’re working to resolve this issue in future releases.
Issue
When installing DivX for Mac on macOS Sonoma (version 14.0 or later), users will see the following error message displayed:
"InstallStartupPlugin.bundle" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.” as seen below.
Note: This issue affects DivX for Mac Software versions 10 (and all its releases). While Sonoma users are more likely to get this error, it may also show up if you’re using a previous version of macOS.
Workaround
- Open the DivX for Mac installer
- When error message stating “InstallStartupPlugin.bundle is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.” displays, go to System Settings >Privacy & Security.
- Click the “Cancel” button on the pop-up. You should now see the following copy in the Privacy & Security settings: “”InstallStartupPlugin.bundle” was blocked because it is not from an indentified developer.”
- When you see this alert mentioning the “InstallStartupPlugin.bundle” (this is the DivX installer), select the “Allow Anyway” button noted in the screenshot below:
Note: In some instances, users may need to repeat step #3 (cancelling the error message more than once).
